Dejan Vasilev begins work as an intern - July 20, 2014

A joyful worship service took place at the UMC in Monospitovo on Sunday, July 20, 2014.  Dejan Vasilev was officially presented as an intern, serving in the churches of Monospitovo, Murtino and Koleshino.  Dejan has been in this position since July 1, in accord with the decision of the Annual Conference in April.  This is a time of learning, practical service and further discernment of God’s call, a first step toward ordained ministry.

Superintendent Wilfried Nausner presents Dejan with a daily journal in which to record his activities and reflections.

Seminar for Sunday School Teachers - July 19, 2018

On Saturday, July 19, 2014, a four-hour seminar was held at the UMC in Strumica.  The seminar was for Sunday school teachers and was organized by the Commission for Work with Children.  I wrote most of the material and selected the presenters.  Eighteen teachers and potential teacher were present from the following congregations: Skopje, Strumica, Radovis, Kochani, Bitola, Murtino, Monospitovo and Koleshino.

Three persons who had attended SWOP SHOP, a training event organized in April by the European Methodist Youth Council near Budapest, Hungary shared many ideas that they learned there.  Gligor Tasev helped me make two videos which showed examples of good and bad teaching techniques. Other topics which were covered at the seminar included Characteristics of Jesus as a Teacher, How to Teach, Parts of a Lesson, Developing a Lesson, and Team Teaching.  We are grateful to God for the opportunity to meet and to learn from one another as we serve in this precious ministry!

Celebrating Pentecost - June 8, 2014

On Saturday, June 7, the children made fruits to decorate the "Fruit of the Spirit" tree.

Our beautiful tree decorates the sanctuary.

Then Sunday morning, June 8, the children gave a presentation about the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).  "...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Stefanija was the narrator.
The children distributed cards with the verses Galatians 5:22, 23 to the congregation.
The children also sang.

Youth gathered from several congregations sang two songs.

Volunteers from Western NC Conference - May 16 - 26, 2014

Six Volunteers in Mission from the Western North Carolina Conference arrived on April 16, to help with some projects at the UMC in Monospitovo (village), Macedonia.  The projects include stacking firewood, building a carport, painting the gate and railings and removing rocks from the backyard so that a garden can be made.  Everyday different women from the congregation came with delicious food for our lunch.
